Old River Farms – Serving All-Natural Beef – Located in Burgaw, NC

Old River Farms is a family owned and operated farm. This fully functional working farm and garden center is located at 8711 Old River Road, in Burgaw North Carolina. Their hours of operation are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. They offer educational trips that meet the requirements for NC Common Core and Essential Standards.

They focus on their customers. They strive to educate their visitors about growing their own foods. Farming on your own land, has been a lost art in recent generations, and is now making a comeback. They also strive to provide the community with the highest quality of vegetable and bedding plants. When in the area stop in and learn about their all-natural beef. The cows are born and raised on the farm. Old River Farms takes pride in raising the highest quality Angus beef. They do not use hormones, antibiotics, or steroids and their cows never visit a feedlot. The meat is packaged in 1 to 4 pound sizes and also available, is bulk meat, freezer ready. This beef is ideal for rare to medium cooking. It is very different from beef you would buy in a super market.

A few suggestions to get you started; if you like your beef well-done, then cook it at a low temperature; coating the beef in olive oil, truffle oil, or a light oil will enhance browning, and it’s recommended to marinate before you cook it. Our beef has high protein and low-fat levels. It will usually require 30% less cooking time and will continue to cook when removed from heat.
