The Farm Bureau plays a key role in the development of the farming community and its families, offering several programs. Their Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) program is for men and women between the ages of 18 to 35. This program helps to develop leadership and public speaking skills and introduce them to today’s issues on agriculture. The Women’s Committee creates programs reflecting the interests and concerns from farm women. Since 1967 the R. Flake Shaw Scholarship program has awarded three million dollars to youth pursuing a future in the agriculture industry.
